How to get caught up with your bookkeeping

If you are like many other business owners, and are behind on your bookkeeping – don’t fret! Take a deep breath and let’s make a plan together.

Here are 3 steps you can take right now to get back on track:

Step 1 – Gather ALL your receipts, invoices, contracts, ect. then GO to your office, coffee shop or some other place where you are free of distractions!

Step 2 – Set aside 1 hour per month to organize and jot down all of your income and expenses, either into an excel file, or an accounting software. Just make sure records are complete and accurate.

Step 3 – Write down any questions that you have!

Don’t waste your time trying to figure out how to properly account for a transaction(s) yourself. Instead, make a list of all your questions and send them myself or another professional that can help. As a business owner, your time = Money! Asking for help when needed will save you lots of time, money and frustration.
